Founded in 1994, GWI offers phone and internet service throughout all 16 counties in Maine. Highly focused on the expansion of high-speed, fiber-optic based internet service, we continue to seek to improve the lives of individuals within communities in which we do business.
Three tenets of our brand DNA are open access networks, net neutrality, and data privacy. We believe adamantly that open access networks offer great benefits to the consumer. We also believe in a free and open internet and will always fight for net neutrality. Finally, being customer centric, it is our goal to always protect consumer’s data.
In 2020, GWI was recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work in Maine” and became the first broadband carrier in the nation to achieve B Corporation certification.
