We hope you will join us as we learn about the many challenges, opportunities, and ambitious vision for "Brunswick Landing".
Meet Our Panelist:
Jeffrey Jordan is the Deputy Director of the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA). MRRA is responsible for the implementation of the Reuse Master Plans for Naval Air Station Brunswick (NAS Brunswick) and the Topsham Annex. He previously served as the Deputy Director of the Brunswick Local Redevelopment Authority (BLRA) which developed the reuse plan for the base.
Jeffrey worked for the City of South Portland for twenty years, having served ten years as City Manager of Maine’s fourth largest City. During his tenure as City Manager, he provided strong vision and leadership in guiding the City through a period of significant growth. Jeff’s community oriented approach to problem solving lead to the development of an award winning strategic land use planning process (Project PLAN) that resulted in the adoption of three neighborhood plans, the state’s most advanced noise ordinance and new shipyard zone.
Jeffrey’s greatest accomplishments may have come through his strong relationship and partnership with the business community in greater Portland. Jeff partnered with the State of Maine and Richard Berman to create a community outreach and collaboration process that lead to a smart growth styled development on the former Maine Youth Center parcel. Through his leadership, the City adopted the state’s first Affordable Housing TIF program allowing Mr. Berman to create and build affordable rental and condominium housing units and professional office buildings on this blighted former tax exempt state facility.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Southern Maine.
